The artistic studio of sculptor Oliviero Bertolaso was established in 2003 at the artist's residence near the marble quarries between the Fantiscritti and Torano marble basins. The studio house is located along the former route of the historic marble railway, which was dismantled in the 1960s to make way for marble transportation by modern and versatile rubber-tire vehicles.

Here, the artist has organized the space for the execution of his works in marble, bronze, resin, and other materials, surrounded by the nature of the Apuan Alps and with a view over the entire city of Carrara and the sea.

To reach the studio (Google Maps coordinates 44.085142, 10.106559), it is not advisable to follow the directions of Google Maps as they can be misleading (they may lead you to reach the destination dangerously against the flow of traffic). Once you arrive in Carrara, you should proceed towards Miseglia-Fantiscritti.

When you reach the Vara bridges, turn left following the signs for Torano and the highway. After about 1.5 km, you will find the studio house on the left.
