Studio Istinto was born from the encounter between creativity and sharing, merging the workshop with the exhibition space. Founded by Jennifer Taufer in December 2023, and joined by Federica Bodda in October 2024, the studio is a place where artworks take shape in an environment that encourages experimentation and artistic exploration. The space is divided into two areas: one dedicated to exhibitions and events, and the other functioning as an atelier where Jennifer and Federica work daily. Entering Studio Istinto means immersing yourself not only in the exhibited works but also in the energy of the creative process, offering an experience that goes beyond simple visual enjoyment. Studio Istinto aims to be an open space for artists in and around Carrara, providing a place to exhibit, collaborate, and experiment, giving life to group shows, performances, and innovative projects.
Federica Bodda was born in Asti in 1997. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Printmaking Techniques at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin, and in 2024 she completed her master’s degree in Fine Art Printmaking at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara. During her academic studies, she focused on intaglio printmaking and traditional printing techniques, developing a strong interest in the processual and material aspects of the image. Though rooted in graphic arts, her practice embraces different languages and techniques with a fluid and experimental approach.
Jennifer Taufer (Primiero, 1995) lives and works in Carrara. Her training began in Trentino with wood sculpture and continued at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Verona, where she earned her degree in Sculpture. Her figurative practice unfolds through sculpture, painting, and drawing, exploring the relationship between body, identity, and perception, and reaffirming the body as a site of presence and resistance. The body, central to her work, is not a shell hiding an inner self but a concrete, material existence. There is no separation between inner and outer: we are flesh, skin, eyes, nostrils, shoulders, taste, and smell. The body does not refer to anything else. It is thought, memory, presence.
