Villa Dorici is a newly established workshop, a space “just downstairs” that has yet to develop a true artistic history of its own. However, the building that houses it is steeped in memory: built in the mid-19th century as a wine cellar serving the inn above, it later became the site of an anarchist circle, complete with a small internal library—of which a few traces still remain today.

While Villa Dorici is still in the process of shaping its identity as a creative space, we have decided—together with fellow artisans from the Fantiscritti area—to initiate a shared journey by organizing a collective exhibition. The aim is to give visibility to colleagues and artists who, despite producing valuable work, lack exhibition spaces in the center of Carrara.
